I am selling my handmade authentic Persian "Kashan" rug. I recently purchased this rug in Bahrain, but it is too large for the room in my home that I had picked out for it. The rug dealer in Bahrain is highly reputable and provided a certificate of authenticity. The rug dealer purchases his rugs directly from the villages in Iran that make the rugs.
Here are the details of the rug: KPSI (Knots Per Square Inch) - 450 Navy Blue Kashan (Medallion) Style 11'2" Long x 8" 3" Wide (3.5m x 2.5m) 100% Kork Wool
You can tell the rug is authentic by looking at the picture with the corner of the rug turned over, when you can clearly see the same image as on the front of the rug, which means it is handmade. This rug is 450 KPSI (Knots Per Square Inch) which is very high quality! Most Kashan style wool rugs are 200 KPSI. I can email a copy of the certificate of authenticity to you if necessary. You can also tell this rug is authentic by the Farsi writing on the top of the rug. The family in Kashan, Iran that weaves the rug puts this writing on as their trademark.
I am asking $1500 or best offer. All reasonable offers will be considered. On Sept. 29, 2010 the new sanctions on Iran will go into effect and it will be illegal to bring Iranian rugs into the US. The value of this rug will definitely go up! Call 785-764-nine nine zero four or respond to this post, if you are interested!
